CCNO Federal Custody Paths
CCNO houses federal detainees under a U.S. Marshals Service contract. USMS is responsible for the custody and movement of federal prisoners from arrest through acquittal or delivery to a designated Bureau of Prisons facility. A federal court entry, not a Henry County court record, controls detention, release conditions, sentence, and commitment in that federal matter.
Several exits can look the same on a local active list. USMS may move a person to court, another contract facility, a federal medical setting, or BOP custody. A judge may order release subject to conditions. A sentenced person may be designated to a BOP institution. An immigration hold may produce an ICE transfer. Only the exit code, destination, federal docket, and receiving-system record separate those outcomes.
| CCNO exit | What it means | Next source |
|---|---|---|
| Federal community release | Physical exit under a federal court order or sentence event | Federal docket and USMS confirmation |
| USMS transport | Continued federal custody during movement | USMS and federal court |
| BOP designation | Admission to the sentenced federal prison system | BOP Find an Inmate |
| ICE transfer | Continued immigration custody rather than general release | ICE detainee locator and information line |
| Another jail | Continued custody at a different contract or local facility | Receiving jail and USMS |
Confirm CCNO Federal Releases
Begin with the active CCNO search while the line is available. Preserve the name, booking number, federal court, charge, status, in date, and any estimated field. Do not treat the local estimated date as the federal release judgment. The court docket and holding authority decide whether the person can leave custody.
- Match the CCNO booking and confirm that the committing or holding authority is federal rather than a Henry County court.
- Search the federal case through PACER or obtain the docket from counsel or the federal clerk. Look for detention, bond, release, plea, sentence, commitment, and supervised-release entries.
- Use USMS Prisoner Operations for the pretrial and transport framework. A nationwide public former-detainee search like BOP's is not offered by USMS.
- Check BOP Find an Inmate if the person was designated after sentencing or previously served a BOP term.
- Request the CCNO exit record with the date, time, code, and destination. A named receiving agency resolves whether the person entered another custody system.
The Henry County released inmate search covers the parallel CCNO, court, VINE, ODRC, and federal checks for a named person. Federal status must remain separate from a local Henry charge that may appear under the same name.
BOP Federal Release Search
BOP Find an Inmate searches by name or a BOP, DCDC, FBI, or INS number. The locator covers federal inmates incarcerated from 1982 to the present. For many former federal prisoners, a result can show Released or Not in BOP custody and a release date. Match the register number and identity details before relying on the status.
BOP has an important coverage boundary. A person housed at CCNO only as a USMS pretrial detainee may never have been designated to BOP. No BOP result therefore does not prove release, and “Not in BOP custody” does not prove freedom if USMS, ICE, a state, or a local authority now holds the person. Follow the federal docket and CCNO destination field.
A BOP release date documents the end of the BOP custody event shown. It does not by itself establish that supervised release ended. Supervised release is a court-imposed period in the community following imprisonment and has its own term and conditions. The federal docket and probation records explain that status.
CCNO Federal Versus ICE Custody
USMS criminal custody and ICE immigration custody are different systems. An immigration detainer can cause a person to leave CCNO for ICE rather than enter the community. The CCNO transaction should identify the destination when maintained. Do not infer immigration status from a name, birthplace, language, or a missing result.
The ICE Online Detainee Locator System includes current ICE detainees and people released from ICE custody within the last 60 days. It can also include people in CBP custody longer than 48 hours. Search by the exact nine-digit A-number and country of birth, adding a leading zero when needed, or by exact first and last name, country of birth, and optional birth date. Records for people under 18 are excluded.
A blank result can reflect exact-match failure, a transfer, removal, other custody, a record aging beyond the released-person window, or a coverage issue. The ICE Detention Reporting and Information Line is the official fallback at 1-888-351-4024. ICE movement remains distinct from BOP release and USMS transport.
Note: An ICE locator result uses immigration-custody terms and should never be rewritten as a federal criminal release or a Henry County jail discharge.
CCNO Federal Contract Scale
The official CCNO facility page lists 202 USMS contract beds compared with 37 funded beds for Henry County. That unusually large federal allocation is not a minor side program. Federal detainees can make up a substantial part of the population at the same regional facility where Henry defendants are held. The name of the court and holding authority must be checked before following a county workflow.
USMS shares facility costs under the contract. The bed figures describe allocation, not a count of people currently held or released. They also do not turn federal bookings or exits into Henry County totals. CCNO's reported 2025 facilitywide releases combine member-county and contract populations and cannot be attributed solely to Henry or solely to federal custody.
The scale explains why leaving the CCNO list does not equal freedom. Federal transit may be the most likely next step for a row marked with a federal court, but only the person-specific exit and receiving record establish it.
CCNO Federal Records Contact
CCNO can provide the local booking and exit records it created. It does not replace the federal court, USMS, BOP, or ICE as the authority for later federal custody. Ask CCNO for the booking number, admission and exit time, release or transfer code, destination, receiving agency, and related federal court information when recorded.

CCNO also accepts records requests by mail and in person. Its public-record page lists 25 cents per single-sided letter-size paper copy and says copies are available at cost within a reasonable period. Confirm electronic or other-media charges. Protected medical, confidential investigatory, witness, security-sensitive, Social Security, and other exempt material may be redacted.
The CCNO release-record page explains the full regional-jail request and the difference between its active snapshot, archival search, and release transaction. Federal records must then be obtained from the agency that created each later event.
CCNO Federal Release Dates
The CCNO active PDF can show an Estimated Out Date beside charge and court data. For a federal detainee, that local field should not be converted into a promised federal release date. One person may have several matters, and a date on one line may not clear a federal detention order, another sovereign's hold, sentencing, or transport.
A federal pretrial release depends on the federal judge's order and any conditions. A sentenced federal prisoner's date belongs to BOP sentence computation after designation. Good-conduct, jail-credit, and supervised-release issues follow federal law and the official federal records, not Ohio's ODRC earned-credit statute. No flat Ohio percentage should be applied.
The actual CCNO exit may still be a transfer. Require the local exit code and destination, then match USMS, BOP, ICE, or receiving-jail data. If a federal docket orders release but another authority has a valid hold, the person may leave federal control without entering the community.
Federal Court Release Records
PACER is the official federal court-record access system. Relevant entries can include an initial appearance, detention hearing, bond or release order, conditions, plea, sentence, commitment, supervised-release term, violation, and warrant. A docket entry explains legal authority, while the custody agencies establish the person's physical location and movement.
PACER may charge fees under its current schedule. Confirm the official terms when accessing records. If same-day release matters, contact counsel or the federal clerk because docket posting and transport can occur on different timelines. A favorable order may still require processing, conditions, or resolution of another hold.
- USMS custody
- Federal prisoner detention and movement from arrest through court disposition or BOP delivery.
- BOP designation
- Placement of a sentenced federal prisoner in the Bureau of Prisons system.
- Supervised release
- A court-ordered community supervision term following federal imprisonment.
- Detainer
- A request or notice from another authority that can cause continued custody or transfer.
Read CCNO Federal Exit Proof
The strongest conclusion comes from records that agree. Match the CCNO booking number and federal court, locate the legal order, read the CCNO exit code and destination, and confirm admission or release in the receiving system. A single blank locator or vanished row is not enough.
- CCNO proves the local admission and physical exit it recorded.
- The federal docket proves the judge's detention, release, and sentence orders.
- USMS explains federal pretrial custody and transport.
- BOP proves designated federal imprisonment and its recorded release status.
- ICE proves the immigration-custody event within locator coverage.
Keep event labels exact. Transfer, designation, supervised release, release from BOP custody, and release from ICE custody describe different legal and physical states. The destination is the bridge between them.
